Book Review: Vicious by V.E. Schwab

Two college friends set out to prove a scientific theory and end up mortal enemies. One driven by vengeance and the other by faith. Vicious is filled with interesting, complex characters that make you question the definition of good and the clarity of evil. I usually come to books for the premise and stay for the characters and I love how each character in this book is driven by complex motives and/or questionable morals. Who’s the hero? Who’s the villain? Can I borrow Sydney for a week?

I’ve been meaning to dive into V.E. Schwab’s work for a while now and this is my first book by her. Her writing is captivating and lyrical. It swallowed me up. I would have finished this book much faster if my schedule hadn’t been riddled with duties devouring my reading time. Needless to say, I’m definitely a fan and I will now read EVERYTHING by her.

Onward to Vengeful.
