Week 1: The High Priestess

The first card in the Tarot Series:
The High Priestess.

About the Card:

The High Priestess symbolizes the tarot reader, man or woman, of psychic powers and intuition. She keeps things hidden behind a curtain. She urges silence instead of expression. She compliments the Magician and is the counterpoint to the Hierophant. She can often mean that it is time for self-discovery or merely to follow your instincts. Things that are secret will be known. She is often seen as a maiden, eternal virgin of Athena, Diana, or Vesta. She may also represent a woman who is pregnant. The High Priestess sheds light on darkness, revealing secrets and hidden dangers, and can reflect on what is truly wanted.
